Garage Bar @garagebarbcn is to natural wine in Barcelona as Nomad Coffee is to specialty coffee: everybody you ask for good places for the product will eventually suggest going there.

So we went for their tasting menu in a Saturday, and were thrilled by the quality and more for the history and pioneership of the project in town. Having noticed a lack of volume and consumer demand for natural wine in Barcelona and Spain, the couple Ale and Stefano, that already had background on it, decided to organize a natural wine fair in Barcelona, that took place first time in 2016 and every following year (except 2021, for obvious reason), gathering, in their last version in 2020, more than 150 producers from 14 countries.

By organizing @vellaterrawinefair , the demand was impulsed and distributors, restaurants and bars could get to know it more easily being in the city. By doing that they had transformed the scene in town and that’s why they are a reference on it!

For food, we had many interesting dishes that always came with wine pairing, and Stefano’s great explanation about it. Highlights to their cheese table, their pork belly (favourite of the day) and their russian shrimp salad. The value you get for 25 euros is great! Really worth it, and we were also granted with their special recipe of bravas – really flavourful.

Last but not least, they do chemical testing in all their wines to be assured no additive is in, and have a store in the back of the restaurant so you can take those amazing products home. Specialty coffee is there, of course, provided by @80plus.coffee in a charming tiny @dallacorte_espresso Espresso Machine.
