The second review of a specialty coffee shop in the outskirts of Barcelona is about Verde Aceituna. A charming, cozy, and very well decorated space located in El Masnou, a small beach city just 30 minutes away by train from Barcelona. @verdeaceituna_
The Coffee shop is not just a coffee shop, it also hosts a series of workshops of many activities, either about natural cosmetics, tasting of coffee, chocolate, wine, and more.
Sara, the owner has gastronomy as a familiar background, and being an interior designer has made an astonishing job on how everything was displaced and by exposing the many products inside. All of their products offered are locally made by small businesses and by that Sara wants to present and reinforce the sustainability culture. You will be able to find natural wines, natural cosmetics, bean-to-bar chocolates, and much more.
As for coffee, the store tries to maintain a more round and sweet origin on the grinder, as the city is still learning about the product and sometimes it can be shocking for the consumer. A very wise decision. Nevertheless, the extractions were really good when I was there.
It is very good to see the specialty coffee culture expanding outside the city centers of the big cities in Spain, especially by hands of people that know what they are doing.
