It has been a great year for specialty coffee in Barcelona (2023) and a super exciting beginning of 2024. We have made quite a lot of visits during the last month, and still far away to cover all the recently open coffee shops recently. Nevertheless – let’s go through some of the new specialty coffee shops open and visited here in Barcelona in the last couple of months.
The Miners is a big and consolidated brand in the specialty coffee scene in Europe, especially Czech Republic. Last year they have opened the first unit outside their country and Barcelona was wisely and happily chosen (especially for us living here). Now, they open their second unit – this time giving birth also to their franchise model.
Coffee quality was excellent and the aesthetics of the place, beautiful as in all of their stores.
Sagra arrives to give more volume and significance to the Sagrada Familia region: what was once a zone that almost did not have specialty coffee apart from FARGO CAFÉ few years ago, now has many options for all kind of tastes and audience.
The shop is super charming and the service is the 5 stars feature in my opinion. Coffee extraction is also great. The Argentinian origin of the owners appears in some salty ans sweet treats: you should not miss their «pan de migas»
Worth to go all the way into the shop to – to see the school chairs and table and remind of childhood.
50m from the exit of Llacuna metro station in Poblenou lies this beautiful new coffee shop. Alina the owner is from Greece have been living abroad in many places before setting foot in Barcelona. So you can find many Greek deliciousness inside.
Coffee extraction was super great, and the food tasted amazing. The space is enlightened, clean and super beautiful!
Worth the visit for sure. Thanks for the reception and congratulations!
A very aesthetic coffee shop in Hospital Clinic region. Well trained baristas and concise menu make this coffee shop a must visit. We have tried their espresso and flat White, also two plates of the menu which were great. The service is great too. You can work there and the shop has a lot of terrace seats. One more great place to go in Barcelona
Not quite in Barcelona, but literally in the next town, BADALONA – another city that was sadly and for a long time abandoned in specialty coffee matters. Now AO and AMAUTA make the scene amazing!
Lisa, the founder is from Japan, and has great experience and cooking skills, she came here to study and in the end set foot in Catalunya. Her coffee shop is a beautiful joy in the walking streets center of Badalona, quite near the beach. Ao means blue in Japanese – but what we recommend you to try are the green: her matcha drinks and also her matcha food are great. We should return also for some natural wine soon, she has a great selection of it.
In the heart of the Born, we now find DHARMA Cafe – a tiny beautiful new coffee shop. Correct extraction of the coffee and good pastries make this coffee shop a good option when walking around the region. Good point for the barista attention too.
